Barnsley Town Hall was built at a cost of £188,000 and formally opened by the Prince of Wales on 14 December 1933. The four storey building, faced with Portland stone, occupies an area of 33,872 square feet and is 220 feet in length and 110 feet in depth.
The height of the clock tower on Barnsley Town Hall is 145 feet.
